Problem Description
Previous coatings had failed over time exposing the concrete which had subsequently been heavily degraded by leaked sulphuric acid. Actual condition of concrete before preparation commenced. Concrete required rebuilding up to 300mm in some areas. Surfaces were high pressure water blasted and neutralized using Chesterton 803IMS. Surfaces re-graded using Imatech's epoxy based bulk filling systems.

Imatech Solution
A total area of approximately 300m2 in 3 separate bunds was prepared and coated using Imatech's site services team.

The Results
The plant remained operational during all work which meant all pipe-work and tanks remained in place. It also meant the coatings were exposed to dilute acids shortly after curing. These areas were frequently rinsed over a week to minimize any detrimental effects to the coatings prior to full chemical cure.
