Problem Description
Reclaimer operates at 10,000 TPH of <40mm lump ore. Extremely high wear rates of previous liners resulted in 12-hour shutdowns for liner replacement, every 2 weeks. Previous wear liners included Ni-Hard, Weld Overlay, Tiles and Domite Micro-Ledges.

Imatech Solution
The client provided Imatech with marked up drawings of the high wear areas along the three sections that made up the length of the centre chute.

Imatech designed customized CorroTile Wear Liners for this centre chute. In consultation with the client, specific design requirements were observed to overcome several problems with previous liners.

These requirements included besides extended wear life, a rationalized liner layout and boltless corner strips – the latter to allow for independent removal of side-wall or back-wall liners to simplify future maintenance processes

The Results
Even after reaching temperatures of 150 ºC and subsequently being quenched by water sprays, the CorroTile Wear Liners extended the life to about 15,000,000 tonnes. Availability of the reclaimer increased by approximately 120 hours per annum.
