Problem Description
25mm thick Bisalloy Wear Plate plug welded to each bin wall (approx 5m x 5m). Wear life of Bisalloy approximately 18 months. Bisalloy changed out during each 6 monthly major plant shutdown. Each change out required approximately five (5) days, which determined the shutdown duration.

Imatech Solution
A CorroCube kit was designed to meet three key requirements:

1. Ease and speed of installation.
2. No external fasteners (nuts and washers) could be used.
3. Improved wear life.

The CorroCube system included drilled and tapped hold down bars that were simply welded into place over existing liners, using spacers to ensure correct spacing The CorroCube Liners were lifted into place with the aid of internally mounted threads for fastening lifting eyes.
The CorroCubes simply fit over the hold down bars and were bolted on. Each liner acted as a clamp to secure the liner above. Rubber and ceramic plugs were used to protect the bolt holes in the wear face.

The Results
Installation was reduced from five (5) days to three (3) days. The first set of CorroCubes was installed in July 2005 and to date - 20 months on - has no measurable wear.
The time required for any future maintenance of these CorroCubes will be further reduced as the mounting bars are already in place.
